Role Overview:
As a Project Engineer at F.Y.K. Group GmbH, you will manage projects involving low and medium voltage switchgear, working across all project phases from conceptual design through commissioning. This role is key to ensuring that projects meet quality, regulatory, and performance standards while aligning with customer expectations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Management: Oversee project life cycles, from planning and design to installation and commissioning of low and medium voltage switchgear systems.
- Design and Engineering: Develop electrical and mechanical designs, layouts, and specifications for switchgear systems, ensuring optimal safety, performance, and compliance with industry standards.
- Technical Analysis: Conduct load calculations, protection coordination studies, and ensure system reliability through simulation and testing.
- Documentation: Prepare comprehensive technical documentation, including project proposals, engineering specifications, O&M manuals, and compliance reports.
- Client Communication: Act as a point of contact with clients, providing regular updates, handling queries, and ensuring project alignment with client needs.
- Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement, quality assurance, and field service teams to meet project deadlines and technical requirements.
- Compliance: Ensure all projects align with industry regulations, safety protocols, and company policies.
- Troubleshooting: Provide support during the installation and commissioning phases, troubleshooting any technical issues and adjusting designs as needed.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Power Systems, or a related discipline.
- 3+ years of experience in project engineering for low and medium voltage switchgear, ideally in an industrial or energy-focused environment.
- Strong understanding of switchgear design, protection devices, and related control systems.
- Familiarity with relevant industry standards (IEC, IEEE, VDE) and proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, EPLAN).
- Hands-on experience in project management, scheduling, budgeting, and resource planning.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for effective client and team interactions.
Preferred Skills:
- Advanced proficiency in electrical design and simulation software (e.g., ETAP, DIgSILENT PowerFactory).
- Certification in project management (e.g., PMP or equivalent) is a plus.
- Knowledge of renewable energy systems and integration with low and medium voltage networks is advantageous.
